Purpose
The Sonoma State University Foundation is led by a dedicated board of business, civic, philanthropic, and community leaders who play an essential role in sustaining and enhancing the excellence of Sonoma State. As leading volunteers, they:
- Steward and manage the Foundation Endowment, now valued at more than $86 million and distributing nearly $2.56 million to scholarship and campus programs annually
- Advocate on behalf of students, faculty, programs and the University
- Support accessible, high-quality education that prepares graduates to lead and be change makers in our communities
- Champion the philanthropic efforts of the University
The Foundation was established in 1974 as a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Sonoma State University.
