Mr. Joseph Huang
Owner, Investor-focused Real Estate Company, SSU Alumnus
Joseph Huang is a long-time Sonoma County resident and a three-time graduate from Sonoma State University (SSU). He holds a B.S. in Business with a Marketing concentration (2002), a B.A. in International Economics (2004), and an MBA (2018). During his time at SSU, he served as the Past President of the SSU Marketing Club and Vice President for the International Business Association.
After graduating in 2002, Joseph traveled to Europe, visiting England, Germany, Italy, and France, where he developed a passion for travel. Upon returning, he began his career in retail management while completing his second degree in economics. His banking journey started with Washington Mutual Bank in 2005, and he continued through the acquisition with JP Morgan Chase Bank in 2008 as Vice President, Branch Manager. Joseph achieved the bank’s highest honor by winning the “Top Manager” award, given to branches that achieved the top 10% in profitability out of over 5000 branches.
Joseph joined Exchange Bank as Vice President, Branch Manager and oversaw two locations and earned the distinction of “Branch of the Year.” He then transitioned to commercial lending full-time as a Business Development Officer. Joseph became Vice President and Senior Regional Business Development Officer at Bank of the West and later BMO after their acquisition. His extensive banking experience includes providing financing for business acquisitions, expansions, capital expenditures (CapEx), commercial real estate, and multifamily apartment investments.
Recently, Joseph founded his own investor-focused real estate company, leveraging nearly 20 years of finance and real estate expertise. In this role, Joseph sources real estate opportunities, secures financing, and manages assets for his clients. His journey from banking to real estate investment showcases his diverse background and entrepreneurial spirit.
Additionally, Joseph serves as a board member on the SSU Foundation and Council on Aging. He enjoys playing sports, sipping great coffee with family and friends, and planning his next adventure - he’s been to 30 countries and counting!
