Marcela Piedra has more than 20 years of municipal management experience. Her executive experience includes serving as City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Community Services Director, Director of Economic Development, and Redevelopment Manager. She has extensive experience in coordinating and overseeing community and economic development, redevelopment, housing, community services and cultural activities.
 

Marcela was appointed by the Rohnert Park City Council to the position of City Manager on October 25, 2022, and started working for the City of Rohnert Park on January 3, 2023. Serving at the pleasure of the City Council, as City Manager, she is responsible for implementing City Council policy and for overseeing all branches of City services. She has managed multi-million-dollar projects which have resulted in over $100 million in public and private community and economic development projects, creation of more than 500 full-time jobs, and over 300 affordable housing units.
 

Marcela has an Associate of Arts degree in Business with emphasis in Business Administration from Imperial Valley College. She graduated with Cum Laude and Distinction from San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business with emphasis in Spanish and Latin America. She has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), California City Management Foundation (CCMF), and California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED).
